Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie Are Doubting the ‘Barbie’ Sequel

In spite of the “Barbie” movie’s enormous box office success, it seems that Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie are hesitant to commit to a sequel. Robbie underlined that the first film was their main priority and that there were no plans for a sequel or series. She emphasized the significance of demonstrating that high-budget original movies can still be successful box office performers when they aren’t remakes, prequels, or sequels.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-290673″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-greta-gerwig-and-margot-robbie-are-doubting-the-barbie-sequel-margot-robbie-11zon-750×500.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com greta gerwig and margot robbie are doubting the barbie sequel margot robbie 11zon” width=”1394″ height=”929″ title=”Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie Are Doubting the 'Barbie' Sequel 3″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-greta-gerwig-and-margot-robbie-are-doubting-the-barbie-sequel-margot-robbie-11zon-750×500.jpg 750w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-greta-gerwig-and-margot-robbie-are-doubting-the-barbie-sequel-margot-robbie-11zon-1024×683.jpg 1024w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-greta-gerwig-and-margot-robbie-are-doubting-the-barbie-sequel-margot-robbie-11zon-768×512.jpg 768w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-greta-gerwig-and-margot-robbie-are-doubting-the-barbie-sequel-margot-robbie-11zon-150×100.jpg 150w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/theindiaprint.com-greta-gerwig-and-margot-robbie-are-doubting-the-barbie-sequel-margot-robbie-11zon.jpg 1200w” sizes=”(max-width: 1394px) 100vw, 1394px” />

In an earlier interview, Greta Gerwig shared a similar opinion, saying that she feels like way at the conclusion of every movie and that, for the moment, “Barbie” is the only possible franchise she is aware of. She said that she had “absolutely zero” ideas for a follow-up or other project.

Robbie expressed a typical issue in the film business when he said he didn’t want to build up a first picture while also contemplating sequels. The creative process and the box office performance of the first movie may sometimes be hampered by an excessive emphasis on developing a franchise.

It’s obvious that Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie want to highlight the value of unique ideas and hope that “Barbie’s” box office achievement will inspire studios to fund large-scale creative films in the future. If they want to carry on the tale, they are willing to consider many approaches but are still hesitant to commit to a sequel.
